Foreign companies may establish a branch or representative office in the UAE. Branches and representative offices may, subject to obtaining the necessary licences, carry out promotional activities and facilitate contracts only. They cannot sell or manufacture goods locally. As described previously, a UAE national must be appointed as a Service Agent. Please note it is a requirement that the parent company is well established, usually with the ability to present at least 
2 years worth of audited accounts.
