Ireland and Switzerland agree revised tax treaty
Switzerland and Ireland concluded negotiations on revising their existing tax treaty and initialled the agreement in Bern on 23 July 2010. The revision includes the extension of administrative assistance in tax matters in accordance with the OECD standard.
Since the Federal Council decision of 13 March 2009 on extending administrative assistance in tax matters, Switzerland has concluded negotiations on extending administrative assistance with over 24 states. The first ten such treaties were approved by parliament in the recent summer session. Further treaties which have been signed will now be submitted gradually to parliament for approval.
