What is RSS?
RSS is a simple way of collecting up-to-date information from different websites on the Internet, and delivering it directly to you in one place -- without you having to visit each website in turn.
It is growing in popularity on the Internet because it allows you to see when websites from all over the Internet have added new content.
We have included RSS feeds on our website so you can quickly gain access to breaking Offshore News and areas of our site that you may find interesting and/or helpful.
What does RSS stand for?
There are a few definitions for RSS - but the most commonly used is 'Really Simple Syndication'.
How can you use RSS feeds?
The most common way of accessing RSS feeds is to use a news reader - or Aggregator. This is a piece of software that checks websites that you subscribe to for any new articles.
News readers come in the form of downloadable applications that you can install on your desktop computer, or they are browser-based. The main difference between the two is that you can keep up-to-date with your RSS feeds from any computer using a browser-based reader, whereas installed readers let you store them on your local computer.
Once you have decided on a news reader, all you have to do is select the content you want to receive and keep up-to-date with. For example, if you want to subscribe to the latest Offshore News from The Sovereign Group, simply navigate to our home page where you will see white RSS buttons.

If you click on one of the buttons, you can subscribe to that particular feed by dragging the URL of the RSS feed into your news reader, or you can copy/paste the same URL into a new feed in your news reader.
Most websites that offer RSS feeds will use a similar orange RSS button (shown below), but some may have a normal hyperlink to the feed.
