Sovereign Mauritius is looking to recruit Trust Accountants to form part of their team.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of Trust clients and prepare management accounts and year-end financial statements
- Liaise with auditors and various institutions in the conduct of audits, where applicable
- Preparation and filing of tax returns and other statutory deductions.
- Liaise with third parties (other departments, banks, Local authorities)
- Maintain client relationship by responding professionally to all emails on a timely basis
- Attend FSC Surveys if required
- Ensure proper and timely filing with MRA
- Ensure adherence to internal procedure
- Attending to any other work assigned by immediate superior
- Perform any ad hoc tasks
- Participate in trust annual review exercise
Profile:
- A degree in accounting or related field and studying towards ACCA
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar position
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
- Good knowledge of regulatory requirements and sound understanding of accounting
- Good communication skills in English and French (Both written and spoken)
- Good organisational and interpersonal skills
- Accurate with good attention to detail
- Proactive approach to work
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Good time management and analytical skills
- Ability to keep client matters strictly confidential
- Ability to follow detailed policies and procedures
