Zacharia Ramaswiela

Zach holds an LLB degree from the University of the Western Cape and is an admitted Advocate of the High Court of South Africa. Before joining Sovereign Trust, he spent over six years providing comprehensive legal counsel, specializing in long-term and short-term insurance, contract law, risk management, and regulatory compliance. During this time, he developed extensive experience advising on complex legal matters and helping organizations navigate regulatory and operational risk.

Zach later transitioned into financial advising, bringing his strong legal foundation into the financial services sector. He currently serves as the Compliance Officer and MLRO for Sovereign’s South African office, where he oversees regulatory compliance, anti-money laundering frameworks, and governance standards.

He is known for his strong analytical skills, ethical approach to practice, and ability to deliver practical, client-focused solutions across both legal and financial domains.
