Qatar has developed a structured residency offering spanning a range of qualifying categories, aimed at attracting long‑term residents who contribute to the country’s economic and social development.
While it is not officially branded as a “Qatar Golden Visa,” the framework comprises several long‑term and permanent residence pathways that closely mirror golden visa‑style programmes seen elsewhere in the GCC. These routes are designed to appeal to investors, business owners, professionals, entrepreneurs, and long‑standing residents, combining residency security with access to business ownership, property rights in designated areas, family sponsorship, and a high standard of living.
Collectively, these programmes reflect Qatar’s broader strategy under National Vision 2030 to attract global talent and investment, offering long‑term settlement options that balance lifestyle benefits with commercial and economic participation, without requiring employment sponsorship.

Successful applicants benefit from long‑term, renewable residency without the need for a traditional sponsor, the ability to own qualifying real estate or business interests, and the right to sponsor immediate family members. Residency also provides access to Qatar’s healthcare and education systems, greater administrative ease through a Qatari ID, and enhanced business and lifestyle stability. For qualifying applicants, continued compliance and sustained contribution may support progression toward longer‑term or permanent residency status, offering greater security and settlement certainty in Qatar.
