Job Purpose
The Insurance Broker will be responsible for developing and retaining the Sovereign Insurance Services (SIS) client portfolio by delivering a high-quality, professional, and market-leading service. The role involves managing client relationships from initial enquiry through to placement of cover and ongoing policy management, ensuring client needs are met while supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a professional, market-leading service to clients at all stages of their journey with SIS, from initial enquiry through policy placement and renewal.
- Take ownership of specified and key client accounts, acting as a primary point of contact.
- Respond promptly and professionally to client enquiries via email, telephone, and face-to-face meetings.
- Identify clients’ insurance needs and source suitable insurance solutions to meet their requirements.
- Review existing insurance arrangements to identify coverage gaps and opportunities to cross-sell or up-sell appropriate products.
- Negotiate competitive terms on behalf of clients, making fair and accurate presentations of risk to insurers.
- Prepare detailed risk presentations for insurers where required.
- Present alternative insurance options, compare cover and pricing, and provide clear, suitable recommendations to clients.
- Assist clients with completing proposal forms and any documentation required to obtain quotes or bind cover.
- Arrange for invoices to be prepared and issued to clients in a timely manner.
- Work towards individual retention and new business targets, while contributing to overall team performance and year-end objectives.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, ensuring all correspondence and documentation is correctly saved on the system.
- Adhere to SIS compliance requirements, service level agreements, and internal policies and procedures.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the key features and terms of selected insurance classes offered by SIS.
- Complete a minimum of 15 hours of CPD per annum, with further CII qualifications encouraged.
Additional Responsibilities
- Mentor and support junior team members, including providing training or sourcing appropriate development opportunities.
- Work closely with SIS Directors to personally manage selected accounts and participate in tenders for major new business opportunities.
- Delegate tasks to colleagues where appropriate to allow focus on complex or high-value matters.

- Experience in Personal Lines, Liability Insurance, or Commercial Property Insurance is essential.
- Minimum CII Certificate level qualification (or working towards).
- Ability to build strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals and senior decision-makers.
