Job Purpose

The primary role of the Managing Director is to oversee business operations in Qatar and to provide strategic leadership as well as to grow the team in-country.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to drive sales growth and increase revenue
  • Oversee the Business Development of the Qatar operation and cross-sell to other Sovereign PPG offices outside of Qatar
  • Oversee the PR and Marketing of the office
  • Maintain and grow strategic Partner relations in Qatar
  • Deliver exceptional levels of customer service and demonstrate excellent customer retention skills
  • Co-ordinate and execute agreed business strategies to deliver the company’s operational plans and budgets
  • Drive business growth by identifying and converting new commercial opportunities to ensure that profit generation is optimised and key KPIs met
  • Monitor and report on performance against plan and budget and initiate any corrective action needed. Develop and execute business strategies to achieve short and long-term goals with a focus on profitability
  • Ensure that the office adheres to all regulatory and group governance requirements
  • Provide market intelligence and operational guidance to the Board on issues affecting the company’s operations
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with other group offices to identify mutually beneficial business opportunities
  • Liaise with group outsourced functions, HR/Finance/Legal and Compliance, to ensure their smooth running and to secure the support required
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the sales team, including training and development initiatives
  • Review and approve office expenditure, ensuring that it is line with approved policies and overall budget


Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited university
  • 5 + years of Management Experience
  • Financial Literacy: Understanding of financial principles and practices, including budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting
  • Experience of developing and leading sales teams
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a competitive market environment
  • Experience of senior commercial negotiations
  • Proficient in English language, written and verbal (Ability to speak Arabic is a distinct advantage)
  • IT competency (Microsoft office)
  • Proficiency in sales management software and CRM systems
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
